I’ve never written a review before after being a satisfied Amazon customer since it’s inception. But the one negative review is way of mark and I had to respond in defense of this product. I have never had a single mechanical problem in three years of constant use. Because I am limited with my walking, I always have the machine close at hand by my side. The ice does gradually melt over time in the basket, but the water is recycled into more ice as the compressor switches on and off as needed. Most people may use this only occasionally on a boat or a wet bar, but I use it for soft drinks when in the entertainment room in my basement. Because I am disabled, I do not have to climb the stairs every time I’d like a cold drink. I have a small fridge in the immediate area as well, but ice trays are for the birds. The unit converts water to ice within about 15 minutes, enough for a 64 oz. bottle of soda. For the money I highly recommend it.

I have done a total of 20 reviews the lowest rating in the 19 was 4 stars.This is a rip off if you want to return it you have to pay shipping both ways and if they are nice they won’t charge you for the restocking fee.
As soon as the cubes are released from the maker they are already dripping,I took each batch out to put them in the freezer and they dripped all over and then froze in a big pile. don’t buy unless you have it all in writing. I am classified with buyers remorse ,not that this is an inferior product. All of my reviews have to do with kitchen and cooking and this was my only disappointment. I would not have rated it if the seller would have cooperated. I was willing to pay the shipping one way! I wish I had read this review before I purchased mine. I wasn’t buying it as an extra toy. I made a mistake when I bought my new fridge, I didn’t include “with icemaker” $35 extra. If I order one now besides costing a lot more and paying for shipping and then instalation. I had no idea that it didn’t work like the one installed in the freezer, when the dozen little cubes drop they are already melting. My original idea was to catch them as soon as they dropped and store them in the freezer, but because they were melting , they stuck together in one big mess. Some people bought it for their bar, I don’t know what the advantage is!
